Here is a two page summary of the 2021 St Andrews Psychology Visiting Day

And a two page summary of the 2021 B.Sc. Neuroscience Programme

I’m a Senior Lecturer (Education Focused), in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience and have been here since 1992. Prior to that, I left school at 16 and worked in a coalmine for 7 years (well six really as I had a year on strike). I did my degree at Sunderland University in Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy and then worked in Mental Health for a couple of years as well as some anti-racism projects. I’m interested in research methods teaching, critical reasoning, science communication and Growth Mindset. I have completed a number of significant projects in the past few years including (1) an evaluation of Readiness for Learning in primary schools, and (2) a review of NHSGGC Trauma Informed Practice Training Needs Assessment Final Report. My Master’s by research student has successfully completed her research project on Mastery Learning in secondary schools and graduated in 2021.
