ManyMinds: Neurodiversity

I’m part of a student-led project, Rachael Gemmel, Jade Harrower and Zuzanna Zielinska, that is promoting Inclusion for Neurodiverse students. We have a series of events lined up for the forthcoming academic session and will advertise widely through the EDI coordinators in Schools and via student representatives.

25th September, 13:00-14:00 (Psychology, Old Library)

Thinking about ADHD: Beyond the traits – Dr Eve Holden (Durham University) and Helena Kobayashi-Wood (NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde) introduced by Dr Maggie Ellis MBE.

In 2025, Eve and Helena (both St. Andrews Psychology Graduates), published Adverse experiences of women with undiagnosed ADHD and the invaluable role of diagnosis and they reported that “Participants found diagnosis revelatory, their lives finally making sense; citing healing, improved self-esteem, and life feeling more worth living.” Their interests go beyond clinical diagnoses and measurement of traits to the emotional consequences of having ADHD – and neurodivergence more generally.

There will also be an opportunity to follow this talk online as well as coffee and a chat in the Psychology Seminar Room 14.10 – 15.00.
